How can I share stories with family and friends?

Open your story, click Share, then choose one of these options: Copy link, Copy QR code, Share to Facebook, Share to X, or Share to Pinterest.

Share options and how they work

  • Copy link
     Copies a direct link to your story. Paste it in texts, emails, or messages.

  • Copy QR code
     Copies a scannable QR image that opens the online story. Paste it into emails, invitations, or print materials. (Great for reunions and events.)

  • Share to Facebook
     Opens a post with your story link. Add your message and publish to your feed or a group.

  • Share to X (formerly Twitter)
     Opens a post with your story link ready to tweet.

  • Share to Pinterest
     Lets you pin your story to a board with the link back to the full story.

Privacy notes

  • Public (default): Anyone with the link (or who scans the QR) can view.

  • Private: Only invited people or selected groups can view—even if someone shares the link or QR.

  • Living people: Details for living people are hidden from viewers who don’t have access to your tree; they may see names and photos only.
