Q: What is included with my Storied Latter-day Saint account?

A: Your Storied Latter-day Saint account includes a full suite of features designed to help you explore, document, and share your family history:

Storytelling: Capture and share meaningful family stories. Storied offers a flexible platform for documenting life events, family anecdotes, and important milestones, allowing you to create a vivid narrative of your family’s journey.

Scrapbook for Media: Keep all your media files in one place. You can store photos, audio files, and PDFs to enrich your family stories and build a more engaging multimedia family history.

Multiple Family Trees: Whether you’re starting from scratch or bringing in existing family data, Storied makes it easy. Build multiple family trees, upload GEDCOM files, and even import directly from FamilySearch, giving you flexibility in documenting your family’s lineage.

Relationships Outside the Tree: Extend your family story by adding connections beyond the traditional family tree structure. Include friends, mentors, and community figures who played a significant role in shaping your family’s history.

Access to All Historical Records and Newspapers: Explore a vast collection of historical records and newspaper archives to add depth to your family history research. Find records that reveal new insights and document family events across generations.

Hinting and Newspaper Matches: Receive personalized hints and matches to historical records and newspapers based on your family tree. These tools help you uncover new discoveries and add context to your family story effortlessly.

Groups: Create or join groups to collaborate on family history projects with relatives or fellow researchers. Groups allow you to share stories, discoveries, and media files with others, making it easier to connect over shared history.

Q: I accidentally signed up with another family member’s FamilySearch account. What do I do?

Our support team specializes in resolving account linking issues and will help connect your Storied account to the correct FamilySearch profile.

Q: Can other people edit my family tree on Storied?

A: No, only you can edit your family tree on Storied. This ensures that your research and personal narratives remain accurate and reflect your unique family history. However, Storied offers collaborative features that allow you to share your family tree with others. You can invite family members or fellow researchers to view your tree and contribute information, such as stories, photos, or documents, without granting them editing rights. This collaborative approach helps you build a more comprehensive family history while maintaining control over the content and structure of your tree.

Q: Does my entire tree import from FamilySearch?

A: Starting your family tree at Storied is flexible. While you can import from FamilySearch, it’s just one of several options. You can also build your tree from the ground up or upload a GEDCOM file. Keep in mind that FamilySearch imports are selective, bringing in only the most recent generations and important information rather than your complete tree.

People Imported from FamilySearch: Storied brings in up to 4 generations of your ancestors, your parents to your 2x-great grandparents, your spouse, children, and your children’s spouses.

Q: Do FamilySearch Memories get imported to my new Storied account?

A: Yes! We make it simple to preserve your family’s legacy by automatically transferring Memories along with your imported relatives. You’ll find your treasured family photos, documents, audio files, stories, etc., ready to explore in your new Storied account. While Memories for 2x-great grandparents remain on FamilySearch, everything else transfers beautifully to help you continue telling your family’s story.

Q: Will my Storied tree changes update automatically at FamilySearch?

A: No, currently, there isn’t a sync feature between Storied and FamilySearch. When you make changes to your tree in Storied, those changes stay within Storied only. To maintain both trees, you’ll need to make updates in each platform separately.

Q: Can I add more than one tree to my Storied account?

A: Yes, absolutely! You can upload GEDCOM files, start new trees from scratch, and manage multiple family trees within your Storied account.

Q: Can I activate my Storied Latter-day Saint account using the Storied mobile app?

A: No. The initial activation for your Storied Latter-day Saint account must be completed through the website, not the Storied or Family Search mobile apps.

Q: Can I create a StoriedBook™ with my Storied Latter-day Saint account, or is there an additional cost?

A: StoriedBook™ Studio is not included with your Storied Latter-day Saint account. You’ll need to add the StoriedBook™ Creator package to access this feature.

Q: I currently have a paid subscription with Storied and/or NewspaperArchive. Will I get a refund?

A: Your subscription renewal and future charges have been canceled, but please note that we cannot issue a refund at this time. According to our Terms and Conditions, once Storied services are purchased and linked with your FamilySearch account, payments made cannot be refunded. However, your subscription will not renew in the future, and you won’t be charged again. After the renewal period, your account will remain active and free for the rest of the Agreement.
